Ardnamurchan Point - most westerly place in the British Isles

Ardnamurchan Point lies at the tip of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula and is the most westerly land on the British mainland. Next stop west across the Atlantic is Nova Scotia.

Ardnamurchan Lighthouse which is 36m (118 feet) tall is a significant aid to navigation at sea and is dominant on the horizon for tens of miles.

From places like Sanna Bay you can view the Inner Hebrides of Rhum, Muck and Eigg which often look stunning on a summer's evening. Completely unspoiled beaches with small Highland crofts scattered along the shore make up the topography. This is the home of the Golden Eagle and Sea Eagle, the Stag and wild herds of red deer.

The lighthouse is an interesting place to visit on a round trip of the peninsula.
